Pre-Race Interview

Why have you chosen to run in the Shine On! Marathon Challenge?

I’m hoping to set a new personal record of 3:15 for a full marathon! That would be 10 minutes faster than my last marathon. My dream is to make people happy with sports. My ambition is to hold sports events for everyone in the world – from children to adults. To acheve this, I will start by breaking my own running record as an athlete. I love children, and I want to always keep an open mind just like all the children do. I’m grateful to be a challenger with Beads Of Courage. I’m happy to encourage children with my challenge.

Do you have a message for your supporters?

Sometimes it is hard to continue training for a marathon, but I have learned that with the support of friends and family, I can keep going. Thank you very much for your courage and guts! We can be stronger together.

Thank You, Kanako!
