Brenda Vaughn, vocalist
Award winning vocalist Brenda Vaughn continues to receive thanks for her work in the music industry and she was honored in The Black Music Association Academy of America this year. She has also received one triple platinum and two platinum awards for her co-coordinating work with Japan’s Ki/oon/Sony Music recording artist The Gospellers.
Originally from the US, Brenda's career started in Oakland, California with a voice infused with a soulful blend of R&B and Gospel. Her first single created rave reviews and opened many performance opportunities and awards in the California region.
Now based in Tokyo, her musical talents are flourishing in television shows and commercials, songwriting together with co-coordinating major tours and numerous recordings. Since arriving in Japan, Brenda has worked with many of Japan’s top recording artists such as touring with Hirai Ken and signing and coordinating singers for MTV Unplugged in New York. Other Japan’s top artists include Crystal Kay, Sowelu, Hikaru Utada, Rx, Makoto Kuriya, Philip Wood, and Sakura.
Brenda is CEO of B.International Entertainment bringing to Japan some of the most sought after producers in the States to produce artists in Japan. She is also a songwriter with several songs being published and made several noises here in Japan and Asia. Brenda’s latest R&B release 'Sistuh Shaking Up' can be heard on the compilation CD called `Soul Exposed`.
She has been labeled Lady Soul by Japan's Soul Searcher and journalist Mr Masaharu Yoshioka.
