This is an article about "Shine On! Cycle Challenge in Norikura in 2009" that happened on July 18th
For the three days from 18th through 20th July 2009, the Shine On! Cycle Challenge in Norikura, 2009 took place in Norikura located on the border of Nagano and Gifu Prefectures and 21 participants joined the event. On the day of the ride, the riders, with the “Ganbatte (go for it) Card” from children in hospital on their jerseys, cycled up Mt. Norikura toward the top (Tatamidaira) at a height of 2,700m above sea level, which is the highest road in Japan. Being greatly encouraged by the Ganbatte Cards, all the riders managed to reach the top safe and sound.
Through the event, 20% of the entry cost was donated to the Tyler Foundation, together with a donation from those who approved the event. The total raised amounted to 107,858 yen.
On a final note, I would like to thank the companies who agreed to and supported the event to ensure that the event was a success.
