The Tyler Foundation creates, implements and supports a variety of programs to improve the quality of life for children with cancer in Japan and their families. Some of the programs have been created based on the direct experience of Tyler’s parents during Tyler’s two-year hospital stay and the input of Japanese parents on Tyler’s ward. Others have been inspired by successful programs in countries outside Japan.
There are four goals of the Foundation’s programs:
- To improve the quality of life for children with cancer
- To support families of children with cancer, both financially and emotionally
- To support targeted pediatric cancer research projects
- To increase awareness of the medical and support issues facing pediatric cancer patients in Japan
The Tyler Foundation aims to touch the lives of children with cancer throughout Japan.
