In April, 2008, we welcomed Dr. Noriko Mitsuiki to the Tyler Foundation team. Dr. Mitsuiki graduated top of her class from the National Medical and Dental University. All of her costs are covered by the Tyler Foundation, and she is working full-time with Dr. Kumagai’s pediatric oncology team at the National Center for Child Health and Development (NCCHD) in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo. This is the culmination of two years of searching by Dr. Kumagai for a talented doctor that will enable each member of his team to provide the highest level of care to their patients. This bold move by the Tyler Foundation will surely set a positive example for other hospitals and make a true difference in the day-to-day lives of the children at NCCHD.
