Feel the rush!
Running for charity is the most rewarding way of running a marathon! All registered Tokyo Marathon 2008 runners will have the opportunity to raise money for the Shine On House as part of a Country Team or as an Individual.
Run for your Country
If you’re British, then why not run for Britain! If your spouse was born in Japan, step up and run for Japan! If you used to work for a Canadian company, then run for Canada! The choice is yours. By registering as part of a Country Team, you’ll be able to run for the country of your choice. See below for a list of criteria to help you select the right team for you.
Criteria for marathon runners part of a Country Team (examples are for Britain)
- Same nationality (e.g. British)
- Or have a connection to that country, for e.g.
- Currently a BCCJ member
- British spouse
- Family connections with Britain
- Currently working for a British company
- Worked in the UK in the past
Run as an Individual
For those of you who’d prefer to run individually without an allegiance, there is an option to simply run for charity without being part of a team.

PRIZES!!
Regardless of whether you run as part of a Country Team or as an Individual, there will be prizes awarded to the deserving recipients at the Tokyo Marathon After Party cocktail reception.
Prizes will be awarded for:
- The best individual/ team time
- Slowest individual/ team time
- Best individual/ team average
- Most number of pledges per individual/ team
